Golf Disc Plastics

Individual Innova and Discraft golf disc models are usually offered in several different plastics. The basic difference in the type of plastic is the durability and consistency of the disc, and there are also differences in grip and rigidity. There are also specialty plastics purchased for aesthetic reasons (tie-dyed and glow-in-the-dark).

This chart describes the plastics offered by Innova and Discraft:

INNOVA PLASTICS
	DX is Innova's introductory and most affordable plastic.
	Innova's Pro plastic lasts longer and performs more consistently than DX plastic. It has an excellent grippy surface, which improves release and control.
	Innova's Champion plastic is super durable and highly consistent. Champion discs will last longer than any other. They're available in various beautiful transparent and pearly colors.
	Innova's Star plastic is a blend of Pro and Champion plastics. It provides the excellent grip of Pro and the durability of Champion all in one package. Amazing!
	Many Innova discs are available in beautiful tie-dye designs; each is a unique work of art.
	Innova produces a small number of discs in glow plastic, which is similar in performance to their DX formulation.
DISCRAFT PLASTICS
	Pro-D is Discraft's introductory plastic; it's the most affordable and widely available.
	Elite-X is more durable and consistent than Pro-D; it costs a bit more, but will last longer.
	Elite-Z is Discraft's premium plastic; it's the most expensive, but lasts an extremely long time and provides the highest performace possible. Elite-Z plastic is available in transparent colors.
	ESP is a high-end plastic released in 2006. It combines the durability of Elite Z plastic with the grippy consistency of Elite X.
	FLX is a special formulation of ESP that's flexible without being floppy. Although designed for play in cold or wet weather, it's great in all conditions.
	Elite-X tie-dyed discs are fashioned of Elite-X plastic, but are dyed in unique, colorful patterns.
	Elite-Z tie-dyed discs are made from Elite-Z plastic, but are dyed in unique, colorful patterns. Like regular Elite-Z discs, the plastic is transparent, which is stunningly beautiful with the tie-dye artwork.
	All of our Discraft glow-in-the-dark discs are Photon Glo models, which are made of an off-white plastic that glows very intensely when exposed to bright light. These are the longest-lasting-glow discs on the market!
